Buy a Emgo 54mm universal (K&N lookalike tapered filter with chrome end). Remove rubber boot between carb and airbox. Cut a small half circle out of top chrome plastic battery cover ...front middle under edge near carb. Leave airbox alone.(Filter is only 3.5 inches long...tapered end clears airbox intake hole.) Slip on filter then put back chrome covers. Filter was $8.00 plus tax......you have to oil gauze filter like a K&N. I rejetted carb to 160 because of a slip-on muffler with baffle(J.C. Whitney $29.95,a$3.00 chrome bracket,and an $8.00 chrome 7inch heatshield).Removed stock exhaust bracket under swingarm.Lots of power and about 25 lbs. lighter! And sounds great.
